Burt’s Service

Burt’s Service

Burt's Service 76 Gas Hawaii Burt’s Service has been an important fixture in the Kalihi community for over 35 years. Generations of friends and family have been loyal customers of Burt’s Service and as their children grew and started their own families, they remained loyal customers to Burt’s.

Burt’s Service is run by Burt Chinen, who has been a long-time business owner in Kalihi. He first started working as a gas attendant, which he enjoyed tremendously. Being a gas attendant enabled him to meet a wide-variety of interesting and different people within the Kalihi community. The Kalihi community is very diverse with people coming from all walks of life and being a gas attendant allowed Burt to have a close hand on the happenings within his community.

Burt's Service 76 Gas HawaiiHowever, Burt was not satisfied with being a gas attendant. Through hard work and diligence, he worked his way through the ranks of the station. After being a gas attendant, he moved up to being an auto mechanic and from there, worked towards becoming manager of the station itself. Eventually, he became the owner and operator of Burt’s Service, proudly carrying the 76 brand.

Burt's Service 76 Gas HawaiiBurt’s Service is one of the very few stations that still offers good old-fashioned full-service. Burt and his crew check underneath the hood of your car, wash your car windows, and check the air in your tires and they’ll pump your gas for you. Burt and his crew pride themselves on being able to service their customers, without their customers ever having to get their hands dirty.

Burt is also a strong supporter of the Kalihi community. Throughout the years, he has provided monetary support for the surrounding schools like Kamehameha, Farrington, and Kapalama Elementary. Burt has even provided a place for local kids to get real-world work experience. Many of the local community kids have worked at Burt’s Service, which has given Burt the opportunity in having a hand in molding who they are. Many of them work at Burt’s, graduate from high school and college, and eventually stop by with their own families just to say hello.

Burt's Service 76 Gas HawaiiA long-time member of the Kalihi community, Burt looks forward to offering a place for families and future generations to turn to for all their automotive needs.
